2-Ball

4th
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Equipment: Cones for boundaries, 2 soft foam balls, team jerseys/pinnies Time: 15-20 min
Divide the gym into two equal teams with a midline. Each team has one ball to start; players throw balls across to tag opponents on the other side (below shoulders, gentle throws). Tagged players sit out or switch teams. Add the second ball midway for escalating chaos—emphasizes dodging, accurate throwing, quick decisions, and constant movement in high-energy team competition.
TEKS 4.1A: Demonstrate mature form in locomotor and manipulative skills during game play. TEKS 4.4A: Participate in games requiring quick changes in direction, speed, and level.
Character Focus: Perseverance and quick thinking. Builds resilience in fast chaos, encouraging focus, adaptation, and bouncing back from tags.

Comprehensive Modifications/Adaptations for ALL Grades:

K: One ball only, no elimination—freeze on tag, large space, gentle underhand tosses, 8-10 min
1st: Two balls slow pace, tagged players freeze briefly then re-enter, focus on safe throwing and dodging
2nd: Add team colors/pinnies, short rounds with quick re-entry, introduce basic passing
3rd: Full elimination until round reset, emphasize strategy like ball control and teamwork
4th: Power zones for bonus throws, peer coaching on tactics, longer rounds for deeper decision-making
