    🔥 Hot Weather Safety

    >85°F or Heat Index

When: High temps or heat index. Prioritize hydration, shade, low intensity, and early/late timing. Monitor all students closely.

Sample TEKS: K-4.3A (safety practices), K-4.2B (body response to activity/environment)
Recommended Games & Activities (Expanded + Modified):
    • Frequent water breaks built into every activity (every 10-15 min)
    • Shaded area activities (under trees, pavilion, or gym edges)
    • Low-intensity / cooperative games (partner toss, group statues, slow tag)
    • Water / splash-friendly (if permitted: sponge relays, water balloon toss in shade)
    • Early morning or late afternoon PE when possible
    • Indoor alternatives or shortened outdoor blocks
    • Rest & recovery stations with discussion/character talks
    • Modified relays (walking pace, shaded zones)
Character Focus: Prudence & Stewardship. Wise choices protect the body God gave us; we look out for teammates (no one left out in the heat).
